London, 1888. After a decade of war with the Lunar invaders we named the Selenites, the British Empire finally vanquished the insect-like menace thanks to a dashing officer by the name of Hugo Wells. He crushed the colony’s queen and in doing so cemented his status as both a hero of the empire, and the de facto patriarch of the drone-like Selenites.

Following the war, the Selenites became the new workforce of our industrial revolution, ushering in a new era of progress and prosperity. Freed from the shackles of employment, man could pursue more earthly endeavors. However, listlessness and disobedience rampaged throughout the middle and working classes. In order to satiate the masses, Hugo Wells conceived of the ultimate entertainment. An elite sport where only the bravest, the fastest and the most worthy warriors could wage a petty war against the enslaved Selenite hordes. Welcome… to Speed Brawl!

Just AWESOME!!!Really cool gameplay/music and visual style!. I'm not far in at all yet, but this is super refreshing. I love the art style and music and am slowly figuring out the combat mechanics. So far so good but will update again soon.. This game rewards you so much for having on point dodges, high speed from the get go and being able to flow like the wind in combat. If you wanted to have a beat'em up race game this is what you should get!. This game is ♥♥♥♥in awesome. really fun combat, awesome characters with cool♥♥♥♥♥moves. The games keeps you moving with its almost race like structure, if you like beat em ups, this is a good one to try out and enjoy. This game is RAD! I'm a sucker for a fun, unique world and cast of characters. The gameplay is challenging and rewarding. The art style is awesome and music is great as well. This sucked me in from the start. 100%%% full recommendation.. Great Game!

If you like to go fast and beat-em-ups just go for it!. It's an amazing game, if your a fan of high-speed brawlers and sidescrolling gams, this one is a must!. It's a nice idea... but extremely boring execution.

The whole game is about getting into the right momentum and mindset after a bit of practice in order to brawl your way to the speedy top, but nothing actually works well enough to do that.

Animations are extremely sluggish, what you'd usually find in a slower game. Music is horribly stock. Sound effects are annoyingly stock. Voice acting is cringy. I can't think of ONE thing that actually works to make you pumped up about the eventual acceleration to victory.

Well the game is colourful I'll give it that...

No I will not apologize for the speed puns made in this 5 seconds review, I was in a rush and it had to be hasted.. An interesting concept but mediocre.

- The shop needed some interesting equipment or better stats versus the rewards you receive when completing the level.

- Ending --- cliffhanger ?

I was interested in completing it for the story and that was disappointing. Not my cup of tea!. https:\/\/youtu.be\/u7SJI-IkAFQ<\/a>

Pretty good idea having a race with brawling checkpoints. I found them to be a ton of fun because the simple fighting gives you a lot of power. You're able to bounce around between enemies and knock them up. However it's not easy when you start to get a lot of enemies on the screen.

Swapping characters is fun and the skill tree is good. The gear though is very tedious and it's a chore to equip the best gear after each fight. Sometimes the character you want to play doesn't have the best gear and that's a shame.

So good fighting but the speed part is lacking. Getting between fig...

A December road map update - Part II:
Hi everyone, Dan here again, back with part II of our tease of the next big Speed Brawl update!

Competitive Mode. A December roadmap update with a little tease from our first major update!:
Hey everyone,

I’m Dan, the producer on Speed Brawl. Since launch, we have received a ton of feedback, both good and bad, about Speed Brawl. I sincerely thank everyone who has taken the time to write to us or make videos with your comments. We are very much committed to improving and building on Speed Brawl’s unique combat system and I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you our roadmap for the next few months.

Our Approach. The Summer of Speed Brawl:

Kongregate, a leading publisher of mobile, console, PC, and web games, teams up with indie developer Double Stallion to reveal the stylish, anime-inspired 2D combat-racer Speed Brawl.

Launching this summer on Kartridge, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam, Speed Brawl throws players into a balletic symphony of lightning-quick combat through the dank locales of a dystopian London in an all-out bloodsport. Filled with armored brutes, vicious aliens, and outlandish bosses, the world of Speed Brawl captures the humor and over-the-top action from over three decades of cult classic cinema.

The fast and hard-hitting combat in Speed Brawl forces players to maintain momentum while judiciously managing the available energy used to unleash powerful special moves.

Players can upgrade and customize their tag-team of fighters through the acquisition of equipment and unlocking new and improved skills.

"Speed Brawl was inspired in part by the over-the-top action, violence, and dark humor of movies like Rollerball, The Hunger Games, and Starship Troopers,” said Daniel Menard, Producer at Double Stallion. “We always knew we wanted to make a physics-and-fisticuffs experience that would feel like Thundercats or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, about a team of people who go through an extraordinary challenge and realize that fighting as a team is better than fighting alone.“

The game’s campaign can be played as a single or cooperative multiplayer experience the whole way through, both local and online. Furthermore, players can race their friends and players around the world for the best times across the game’s event leaderboards. The environment is furnished with a collection of physics-based contraptions and interactable objects like poles, explosive barrels, boost pads, and deadly circular saws that players can use to dispatch enemies in new and increasingly flashy ways.

“Speed Brawl’s fresh take on the action platformer keeps evolving and surprising throughout the course of the game’s campaign,” said Kevin DuPuy, Director of Production at Kongregate. “Double Stallion has fine-tuned the gameplay to let players be in a constant state of flow, bringing a depth and variety to the combat that allows players to really dig in and define their own unique playstyle. All of this comes together in a stylish and striking package, making it an absolute blast to pick up and play.”

Speed Brawl is coming to Kartridge, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam this summer and players can wishlist it on Steam today. You can find additional information about the game at www.speedbrawl.com and get the latest news on the official Facebook and Twitter accounts.. Speed Brawl's high-octane fisticuff brawling is featured in our new gameplay trailer!:

Kongregate, a leading publisher of mobile, console, PC, and web games reveals the first gameplay trailer for Speed Brawl, a not so classic beat ‘em up that cranks the speed up to 11. Developed by Double Stallion Games, Speed Brawl is a 2D combat-racer with management and platforming elements. It’s about moving fast and hitting hard, maintaining momentum, and judiciously managing stamina to unleash powerful special moves!

The Details. Speed Brawl's upcoming competitive versus mode will be playable at PAX East 2019!:
We're finally heading to PAX East and we're doing so with Indie Mega Booth! It's our first time in Boston, and also our first time in the IMB and we can't wait.

ANd, what are we bringing with us?

1. Versus Mode. Speed Brawl has flown from its starting cage!:

Now the brawling begins!. A November road map update! Also, online leader-boards have been reset.:
To celebrate the release of the game on consoles in Europe, and the arrival of another update patch of tweaks and optimisations for the game on Steam, we're going to reset* our leaderboards!

*Local times will be retained by your save file.

Owing to the substantial changes to game balancing, and the removal of a few bugs that could result in some unexpected unsportsmanlike conduct, we're going to flush the game's leaderboards. This will give new and returning players another run at being number 1, and more accurately represent some of the astonishing run times brawlers are scoring!

Once again, thank you to everyone in the Speed Brawler community, your reviews, streams and comments have been devoured by everyone here at Double Stallion Games. We've got some amazing additions to the game in development, we're listening to your critiques and requests, and we cannot wait to bring you even more Speed Brawl!

As a little tease, our current roadmap for continued development includes the following:

  • Platinum Trophies for all events.
  • S and + Rank challenges across all events.
  • Character and enemy revisions to bring more speed to the game.
  • New skins for fan favourites.
  • New colours and more trail options.
  • A brand new brawler.
  • Oh yeah, and we're taking a tentative look at... Competitive modes

So... If you haven't left us a review, please do.

And... If you haven't told a friend about the game, please do that too.

Finally and most importantly... Keep on Brawlin', Brawlers!
